Our first night at Santa Monica. Nice Italian restaurant. We had pig ears for appetizer, not very tasty. BB had tagliatelli and Ruru ordered pasticcio. Yummy yummy! We went back to our apartment and had some champagne.

First time trying to cook it and it was a success! Ruru helped me to chopped the vegetables and tied the cute apron on me :)

Our first day at Santa Monica!

Thanks to airbnb, we are living in this lovely studio downtown Santa Monica for the whole vocation!

Spicy pesto soba and peach sake
A few weeks ago we saw the receipt of “spicy pesto soba” at an old bookstore. I secretly took a picture of it and we made it happen!

Ruru blended the dressing using his pesto and my fresh mint and basil, garlic and red chili. It was magical!

First time trying eggs wrapped fried rice. Learned it from the Japanese manga I’m reading. Ruru liked it :)

Dim sum Sunday afternoon! Ruru’s first time seeing people pushing carts to sell dim sum. #authentic

Sushi boat at Japan center! Octopus sushi :) everything is sooo yummy!

Trying to make Ruru eat more veggies so here comes asparagus stir fry Chinese bacon and sausage, black bean paste garlic eggplant.

Ruru forgot to take pics of coke chicken wings and roasted taro.

For appetizer we had roasted garlic peanuts and flower sake!
